Activities

We have developed and organise the following demanding and rewarding cycling events and challenges:

C2C Residential Bike Rides

The Coast to Coast (C2C) is arguably regarded as the UK’s most popular cycle ride. Its various routes encompass approximately 140 miles that begin on the West Coast of Cumbria at either Whitehaven or Workington and finish on the North East coast at Sunderland or Tynemouth. Tradition dictates that you start the ride by dipping your back wheel in the Irish Sea and only finish when your front wheel gets a dip in the North Sea.

Local Rides include:

Penshaw Tunstall Hills and Coastal routes.

Chopwell Woods:

A relatively small area of woodland compared to other forestry areas, this does not detract from your mountain biking experience with participants enjoying a real treat when it comes to skills and technical riding. Routes are relatively short in distance but more than make up for it with some great opportunities to test your technical ability including seesaws and ram runs.

Hamsterley Forest:

Provides for all types of cycling ranging from short leisurely routes to fast flowing downhill. The forest is situated on the edge of Teesdale and Weardale with over 2000 acres of forest.

Coastal Route Sunderland to South Shields:

This scenic 8mile route is a cyclist dream, with its breath-taking views, its flat and stretches across the Northeast Sea front the whole way.

Tan Hill Challenge:

For those cyclists who want a real challenge, cycling up The Tan Hill is just the ride for you. With a 9-mile ascent starting on the outskirts of Kaber the average climbing percentage of 3.2 % should not be underestimated as the climb drags, drops, goes steep uphill and then drags a bit more. Some sections approaching a gradient of 20% really test those climbing skills. Once at the top the view is well worth it with a real sense of accomplishment for all those who complete the challenge.
